Prince of Wales arrived in Krapyak 4 November 2008 at 2 pm. Strains of hadroh (percussion music instrument typical in Pesantren) welcomed the honorary guests from the British empire. The children eagerly waved a flag of Indonesia and the UK represents the good relations the two countries.
Prince Charles immediately greeted by KH Atabik Ali. After chatting for a while he went to visit the language laboratory, LKIM (Student Institute for Islamic Studies), Sunan Boarding Rooms, computer labs, and listen to verses from the Koran.
Prince Charles visited the boarding school Krapyak not just for a quick tour, but he also want to establish cultural cooperation. He wants to also bridge the gap between Muslims in the UK and Indonesia. This was manifested by an exchange of 5 Islamic scholars. There is also the training of the British Council in the form of the introduction of English, as well as entrepreneurship training. The training is expected to contribute to the further development of pesantren.
